About First Collection:
First Collection, a refined incense series designed by Chikako for TOKYO KODO, blends the western concoction of fragrances with Japan’s traditional way of aromatic incense. They are TOKYO KODO's flagship incense, featuring fragrance techniques where East meets West.
Designed with materials sourced from Grasse in the south of France (considered to be the world’s perfume capital), the collection is then made in Japan and transformed into sophisticated scents.
"Love Carrot" is the first and favorite fragrance Chikako has ever created. During her training at perfume school in Grasse, south of France, she was fascinated by the smell of carrot seed oil which is earthy, ethereal sweet floral, leafy green note. Combined with sunny orange, patchouli, sweet vanilla and Indian creamy sandalwood to create a complex sophisticated scent.
"Mimosa" is created with a very high-quality mimosa absolute from the South of France. The scent conjures images and feelings of spring sunshine in the Côte d'Azur, leaving you warm and relaxed.
Wisteria flowers are common in both in Japan and France. Not only is the silhouette of the flowers blooming beautiful, but the fragrance is quite magnificent, as well. "Wisteria Du Japon" is fresh floral, green with a refreshing note. Designer Chikako feels very warm and happy surrounded in this scent.
Smelling a grand lavender field in France, Chikako wanted to use this simple but great scent for her incense collection. Lavender mixed with sandalwood, "Lavender Elysium" gives you a sense of standing in the center of a lavender field.
When Chikako was a child, she lived with her grandfather. His house was full of different types of tree scents, such as the richness of Agar wood. This has created a wonderful memory of her childhood and was the inspiration for "Mumure De La Foret".
Floral, powdery and characterized by feminine sweetness, the beautiful lotus flowers bloom in muddy water rather than clear water. For that reason, it is believed these flowers carry symbolic and metaphorical elements. You can enjoy "Lotus Du Japon" with a feeling of love and the unique charm of the lotus.
After graduating from Tama Art University Graduate School of Textile Design, Perez Chikako worked at the Textile Design Office. She traveled to France in 2012 and graduated from the Grasse Institute of Perfumery in Grasse, South France, which is said to be the capital of perfume.
