This century old "Book of Thrift" is actually a vintage, metal coin bank from the 1920s.  Most likely a promotional item from banks given out to store money at home.

This one has a gorgeous green color and is in very good condition considering the age. Definitely some scratches, but all adds to the beauty and patina of this piece.

Does not have a key, but more than likely can be picked open. There is no money inside (sorry. we checked!)

Writing on the front reads "Farmers & Merchants Bank. Lodi, California. 'Owned by Home Folks'".

Writing on the side reads "Bankers Utilities Co. San Francisco. Patented July 3, 1923).

A lovely piece that we considered keeping for ourselves before letting it go to our amazing customers.

Sold-as is.

Dimensions: ~ 4.5" x 3.25" x 1"

Bygone Goods

Bygone Goods is our designation for vintage objects — found pieces with history, character, and soul. Every piece is carefully curated; if it doesn't meet our standards for quality and uniqueness, it doesn't make the cut. These aren't relics. They're survivors, chosen for people who appreciate true craftsmanship and lasting quality. When they're gone, they're gone.
